Swamped with your writing assignments? Take the weight off your shoulder!
As you develop your ideas, look for scholarly sources, and evaluate these sources, it is often necessary to back up, revise, add additional material, or even change your topic completely. In short, it’s not a linear or “clean” process. There are lots of reasons you may need to adjust your plan. For example, you may realize that your topic is too broad and needs to be narrowed, sufficient information resources may not be available, what you learn may not support your thesis/ hunch, or the size of the project does not fit the requirements. An audit trail is a useful strategy to help document and keep track of steps taken from the start of a paper or project to the development and completion of the paper.
In general, there is no defined format for an audit trail, but for this assignment, I am going to provide a structure for you to follow. Your audit trail should include the following:
Minimum of 5 reflective memos (1st person notes-to-self documenting process-related aspects of the project). Examples include:
Reflective logs that include notes to self about readings, connections you are making, “a-ha’ moments, questions you are asking yourself, etc.
See two examples of reflective memos here: Reflective memoing (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vre8QSUP19P8IHSuyXPqnrKfumm-rUGa3Gic6o1POI4/edit)
Records of search processes and outcomes (key terms and related concepts, the definition of terms, databases, seminal articles, etc.)
See example here: Log of Library Searches (https://docs.google.com/document/d/149pRGGfHJ4CskpgZqtSjxCm20PtyY8KW3i4WqYjyWck/edit)
At a minimum, complete the Literature Review Matrix with notes for a minimum of 5 scholarly sources (I have attached it)
My assignment is about failing The LCSW 3 times. Please find research/ articles that assist in explain the effects of failing, etc.. It needs to be able to correlate back to the topic. Also, please use I in areas that are needed. You can make up responses.
