Take 5 sources in “How should leadership strategies be evaluated in higher education”
Sources should for last 5 years
An Annotated Bibliography is a list of sources you have read in order to explore a research topic. Each source is annotated. This means that you write a short paragraph which highlights key aspects and evaluates the relevance of the source for your research purpose. Compiling an annotated bibliography is the first step in preparing to do research for essays, projects and your dissertation. On the Pre-sessional English course, you will formulate a research question, which will help you to explore an aspect of your field of study. As you refine your research question, your reading will become more focused on the most helpful sources.
The purpose of this task is to show a critical understanding of your 5 sources (published in English) and how they relate to your question and each other.
Sources with annotations List five sources as full references (Harvard style) in alphabetical order of author surname. The sources must be from online academic resources found by using Discovery, or Google Scholar. The annotations should be 100 – 150 words long. In each annotation you should
Summarise the source to show how it is relevant to your research
show how the source relates to the other sources in your bibliography
discuss limitations of the source in answering your essay question
You should also comment on one of the following aspects in each annotation:
Scope Is the source an introduction, an overview or a more detailed study?
Currency Is the source up to date? Is it recent enough for your field? If the source is older, what is your reason for including it?
Level and audience Is this source designed for new researchers or does it require specialized knowledge?
Viewpoint Do the authors have a particular stance or position on the issue or problem or findings in their article? How does that compare to the stance taken in other articles or to your own viewpoint?
