“Health” Advertising (ch 14): Choose a commercial which is advertising a medication or healing substance (or action). Describe and discuss the target audience, what the product claims to fix and if there are alternatives. Analyze, critique, discuss, react, incorporating and pertinent aspects and factors regarding the topics in class. The intent of this assignment is about how substances can be advertised (i.e. direct-to-consumer) via media platforms to influence the viewer. Also, how sociologists have to consider how society may potentially present or spotlight features related to medications, drugs, substances, and/or healing actions.
Directions: Think as a sociologist and include at least one concept from the chapters we have covered and include the page number. If you provide any links, make sure they work and get me to what I am supposed to be seeing, also listing the complete reference for it, when applicable. Each project is worth 25 points and will lose points if late.
**This paper must include at least one outside academic reference cited within the paper and with the complete listing in a works cited section at the end of the paper.
