Explain themselves cohesively and coherently?

Annotated bibliography: An annotated bibliography of scholarship on the Hebrew Bible in modern academia (annotated bibliography due 11/23)
Imagine you are writing a paper in order to discuss three different scholarly articles and their academic perspectives on a single topic. Topics can be of an historical, literary or political issue in the Bible, but modem interpretations should be avoided. Using a thesis statement as your argument, compare and contrast these three scholarly perspectives.
Questions to consider in your analysis: Is their evidence solid? Why or why not? Do the scholars lay out their arguments adequately? Use sufficient evidence? Explain themselves cohesively and coherently? Is the scholars’ reasoning logical? What conclusions can be drawn about the academic approach to the Bible?
For sources, students must choose academic articles- no source that is not pre-approved by the professor may be used. all sources must be approved before the paper can be accepted. If sources are not all accepted, new sources must be approved by the professor before the paper can be handed in. This is worth 20%. (THE SOURCES MUST BE SCHOLARLY TEXTS NO MORE THAN 7 PAGES LONG, NO OLDER THAN 2004, IT CAN NOT BE A BOOK REVIEW OR A BOOK, AND MUST BE PEER REVIEWED)
As you can see i need the sources to be checked by my professor first so pls get those three scholarly texts as your references by the end of the day on 11/21 so i can have my teacher check it on 11/22 and then i can get back to you.

What do we know about the editing process that led this passage to be included in the book in which it is found, in the place where it is found?

In this paper, you will further explore the discipline of biblical criticism introduced in our class. For this paper, you will write on a scripture passage chosen from a list provided by the instructor. You will be assigned a passage through a sign up process, links to an external site, which will take into account student preferences. The purpose of the paper is for you to research and then report on scholarly views on your scriptural passage.
Your paper should answer the following questions about your scriptural passage:
Origins: As far as we know, who was the author of this text? When was it written? For what purpose was it written, and what do we know about the social situation the author was writing in?
Sources: As far as we know, did this passage originate from sources older than the present book in which it is found? What do we know about the editing process that led this passage to be included in the book in which it is found, in the place where it is found?
Insights: Based on your research, what are some insights that biblical criticism provides into the meaning or significance of this passage? These insights can be gained from the close study of the words of the passage, a study of its form or genre, research into the social and historical context of the passage, etc. (This section should take up the majority of the paper)
For your research, you should draw on some of the scholarly yet accessible resources available in our library. You should draw on at least three Bible commentaries available as e-books in our library catalog. More information on these commentaries is provided in a separate file Download separate file. As you use these resources, keep in mind that you will need to look for both general information on the book in which your passage is found (for example, Exodus or Luke) as well as for more specific information on your specific passage. Most commentaries will include general information on a book at the beginning of the essay and then analyze the book chapter by chapter. Also keep in mind that some of these resources might not cover your passage exactly, so you may have to look at multiple sections to find the information you need. You can watch a tutorial video on how to do the research for your paper.
Your paper should be between 3 and 5 pages in length, 12 points in a standard font, double-spaced. Your paper should have an introduction describing the relevance of your topic and a thesis statement summarizing the whole of your argument. Each paragraph should have a topic sentence that summarizes what the paragraph is about, and the paragraph should center on that topic. The paragraphs of your paper should follow a logical order. You will be graded on these elements, as well as on spelling and grammar. You are also expected to use parenthetical notes for any quotations or other references that you use, and have a works cited page. You should follow the MLA style of citations. Examples for the parenthetical citations and works cited page are listed below.
This short paper, like all assignments in this class, is meant to evaluate your progress in achieving certain goals of the class. The relevant goals are to recognize the major questions and methods of theology, to acquire the skills necessary to critically read and interpret the Christian scriptures, and to develop one’s own writing and critical reasoning skills. Therefore these form the basis for how your paper will be evaluated, as described in the rubric.

Answer should include specific references to course material (eg. material in the sachs text,

[The aim of theological anthropology], “Is to tell man who he is and what he must do to be
himself. Its intention is to disclose to him the truth about himself, that is, what he can base
his life on and what he can die for.”
1) In a clearly written 2-3 page essay summarize what this course has taught you about yourself as
a human person, what truth or truths has it disclosed to you about yourself, on what does it
invite you to base your life and for what does it suggest you might be willing to die. Your
answer should include specific references to course material (eg. material in the Sachs text,
insights of early and contemporary Christianity, applications of Van Breemen or Frankl) and a
thoughtful attempt to apply that material to your own journey of growth and development. It is
not necessary to include every aspect of the course. It would be better to choose one or two
things that were of particular meaning to you.

How the vision of the founder(s) was influenced by and also challenged the existing traditions and power hierarchy of that time and place.

Choose a world religion that IS NOT Christianity* from the graphic organizers in the attached file, and use the questions provided in the ‘matrix’ of that religion to guide you in writing a 1-2 pages double-spaced essay in which you:
demonstrate an understanding of the geopolitical (who had power, which ’empire’) landscape in which the religion was founded
how the vision of the founder(s) was influenced by and also challenged the existing traditions and power hierarchy of that time and place.
Remember, the main idea is that you’re writing about a religion in a HISTORY CLASS.** You don’t need to answer every question in order of the graphic organizer to do well, they are only there to guide you. You should cite at least one scholarly source in any format cited within the paper, and then listed at the end in ‘works cited.’
*Since Christianity was the model given in the lesson on the topic, you must choose another religion, even though I have included the graphic organizer for Christianity in the attached document to help you get a sense of what you are supposed to do.
** You won’t get an “A” if you write a basic summary. You need ‘analysis.’One way to do this is to connect forward through history with that religion . for example, We did this by comparing the original teaching of Jesus to Christianity today, and also by connecting the Roman empire to the U.S. empire today. Use the discussion board and then you’re getting participation points while you’re getting help with the assignment at the same time!
Source ideas. jstor, get scholarly sources from the bottom of wikipedia pages and by googling the names of historians that speak on videos to find their books, books.google.com,
you can’t use a video as a source but you can search the historians names that come up, also the video has great info! Here are some helpful videos, depending on your choice
you will be writing about bubba here the documentary

receive full credit for the Matrix, your assignment should:
-Accurately and Thoroughly explicate the entirety of the matrix for the religion
-be clearly written
-CITE ( use it within the text of your paper by quoting or paraprasing, and then list the cited sources at the end in a works cited page) at least one SCHOLARLY source used to gain info
